He publicly announced his reversion through a series of emotional posts shared on his social media pages, describing the decision as a deeply personal spiritual rebirth.
“Today I begin again. A healed heart, a renewed soul, and a life surrendered to Allah. From this moment forward, my steps are guided by faith, service, and purpose,” he wrote.
While every individual has a constitutional right to freedom of religion and belief, we believe that Comedian Jaymo has strategically altered his religious identity in preparation for the 2027 general elections. This is a classic case of the instrumentalisation of religion for electoral gain.
Kenya is a secular State under Article 8 of the Constitution. Political leadership must be grounded in ideas, integrity, policy proposals, and respect for constitutional governance—not religious affiliation or performative faith displays intended to appeal to particular voting blocs.
