Ruto´s Government Should Implement One Child Policy

Kenya is facing a youth bulge. 75% of the Kenyan population is aged below 35 years old. Youth unemployment in Kenya is currently as high as 35%. Studies also indicate that Kenya has one of the highest levels of children born out of wedlock in Africa.

We urge President Ruto´s government to implement a one-child policy to control the population in Kenya. A once child policy will provide many advantages for future generations, both socially and economically. A decrease in the Kenyan population will lead to less competition among citizens for jobs and unemployment will be alleviated.

Implementing a one child policy will also promote family planning, hold population growth under control and raise the life quality of the Kenyan population.

Too many births in Kenya is one reason why we are experiencing economic hardships and cultural backwardness. The population should be controlled to combat poverty in Kenya.

A pan-African study by two Canadian sociologists shows that Kenya has one of the highest levels of children born out of wedlock on the continent.
