Mammito has Kenyans bursting with laughter following her hilarious Prophet Owuor skit

Kenyan comedian Mammito has generated significant online buzz with her latest comedy skit. In this video, she embodies a character she dubs “the mighty prophet.” This character serves as a direct parody of Prophet David Owuor, the well-known leader of the Repentance and Holiness Ministry.

A Remarkable Transformation

The comedian underwent a considerable physical transformation for this role. She appeared on screen dressed in the long white garments typically associated with the religious figure. To enhance her portrayal, she donned an exceptionally long, flowing beard.

The production was supported by a professional team to ensure an accurate representation. Zennah Achieng was responsible for the makeup, while Nimrod Nick provided the costume. The video was filmed by Kogi Director and edited by Editor Ngatia.

Inside the Skit

In her performance, Mammito adopts a distinctive manner of speaking to her “followers.” She frequently refers to herself as the “mighty prophet” during her exchanges.

Throughout the skit, she asserts that she has a direct line of communication with God.

“You will be talking to God through you know I talk to Jesus directly. Even send a mail because of what you are going through with your marriage,” she stated.

The skit features various comedic assertions, including the notion of sending emails to heaven. At one point, she advises a follower that their hairstyle requires alteration and shaving.

The position of the Atheists In Kenya Society regarding this skit

The Atheists in Kenya Society stands in solidarity with Mamito following the backlash over her skit (parody) about Prophet Owuor. In a democratic and secular society such as Kenya, freedom of expression must be protected—even when that expression challenges or critiques religious figures and beliefs.

Humor, satire, and critique have long been part of public discourse. No individual or institution, religious or otherwise, should be placed beyond scrutiny or ridicule. Attempts to silence comedians and creatives through intimidation or moral outrage undermine the very freedoms guaranteed under the Constitution.

We encourage Mamito to disregard any threats that may come her way from the followers of Prophet Owuour. We also wish to caution the followers of Prophet Owuor that we will take to the streets in support of Mamito if they persist in their threats against her.

We call on all Kenyans to uphold free expression, reject intolerance, and defend the right of individuals like Mamito to speak freely without fear.
