We are a registered atheist organization
The Atheists In Kenya Society is an atheist organization, registered under the Societies Act (Cap 108) in Kenya. We are the first non-religious society to be registered in the country. ->See Registration Certificate
As a member of Humanists International, we support the global humanist movement.
The national goal of the Atheists In Kenya Society is twofold — separation of church and state and to offer support to those who are like-minded (including agnostics, skeptics, humanists, free thinkers, skeptics, and spirritualists) and know they are not alone in a country where the majority have a religion.
The number of Kenyans who do not believe in God has grown so much that they no longer operate in secret. Today, they stand at over half a million, in a country where 90 percent of the population consider themselves Christians or Muslims.
We live in a natural
There are no gods or ghosts, disembodied spirits or immortal souls. There is no divine realm. Of course there are strange or as yet unanswered questions about the world, but as we gain knowledge and understanding then previously unexplained phenomena are always brought into the “natural world”, or can be understood “under the laws of nature” (or however you like to think of it). This view is also sometimes known philosophically as naturalism.

Looking for a Humanist Celebrant?
As a secular society, we want to help acknowledge and celebrate all the important events that happen during our lives.
Committed to this cause is our dedicated group of celebrants. Each one volunteers their time, attention and skill to help those who reach out. Our celebrants welcome anyone to contact us and ask about our availability for weddings, baby namings, and memorial services. If you want to explore the idea of one of Humanist Celebrants leading a ceremony, please contact us! We’d love to hear from you.
